Safety During the Hauling Process
With all of the incidents and accidents happening on the highways lately involving companies that haul aggregate I feel the need to set all of our customers and potential customers at ease with the fact that here at GR Trucking we make certain that every state and federal truck tarping law is fully followed. As a matter of fact each and every truck is individually inspected before pulling out of our lot.
There was an incident involving a different trucking company that involved a truck hauling aggregate material that was not fully intact and there was actually a spill on the highway. Not only causing commotion, loss of time and wages, but injury to fellow drivers on that highway. These are the types of incidents that GR Trucking does not want to be associated with.
Safety is a high priority for us here. While our customers are placing orders to have aggregate hauled from one job site to another, we want to continuously be here to keep them on budget and within the specified timeframe that they have agreed to with their buyers as well. It is basically a win-win situation for everyone involved.
I do want to ask one thing of the other drivers on the road. While the truck drivers are being careful, mindful, and alert; we need you to do the same. While a truck driver is in the driver’s seat there is a blind spot that you need to be aware of. The rear view mirrors on the side of the truck notice them next time and pay close attention to them. If you cannot see the driver in those mirrors, the driver cannot see you. This oversight has caused entirely too many accidents in the past with other companies and we do not want any more senseless accidents because someone says they simply did not know of the blind spot of a truck driver.
