GR Trucking, LLC presented with Resolution by Supervisor Phil Serna
By: Kiriaki (Koula) Rozakis, Human Resource Administrator
Sacramento County Supervisor Phil Serna has committed himself to making positive and lasting improvements in the Sacramento County’s unincorporated neighborhood of South Oak Park/Fruitridge Pocket.
This commitment came to fruition with updates to Jack Davis Park which was transformed into a more attractive place for families and young people to enjoy with the expansion of the existing half-size basketball court to a full court and the resurrection of a new playground.
Over the summer, Supervisor Phil Serna called for community support to help complete the project. GR Trucking, LLC answered that call; along with the Sacramento Kings Foundation, KaBOOM!, Good Tidings Foundation, Southgate Recreation & Park District, Thomas Law Group, L&S Construction, Teichert, JD Pasquetti Engineering, Harrison Concrete Cutting, Lennar Homes of California, Inc., Sacramento County Department of Transportation, Sacramento County Probabtion Department, and SOPCA-South Oak Park Community Association.
Under a tightly compressed timeline of fewer than sixty days these public and private organizations, community partners and volunteers provided financial, in-kind and labor support partnered together to demolish the half-basketball court and professional reconstruct an exceptional full court with improved surrounding hard-scape and ADA-compliant sidewalks. GR Trucking, LLC provided the hauling.
On October 14, 2017 with 300 volunteers, community members, project partners and residents in attendance, the new purple expanded basketball court was dedicated during a ribbon cutting ceremony and officially opened to be used and enjoyed.
On November 14th, Supervisor Phil Serna presented Resolutions in celebration of the completion of the Jack Davis Park Kings basketball court and KaBOOM! Playground. Representatives from GR Trucking, LLC were proud to be present at this presentation on behalf of the Company.
This project represents the power of teamwork and sportsmanship and was made possible through the collaboration. GR Trucking, LLC is committed to working with other organizations to make a difference in our local community.
